Terms of Use

Last updated: 1 November 2026

1. Who you are agreeing with

Gameboardly is operated by maimaimai, Hong Kong SAR. In these terms “we” and “us” mean that operator, and “you” means the teacher or organisation using the service. Contact: hi@gameboardly.com.

2. The agreement

By using Gameboardly you accept these terms. If you use it for a school or organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept them on its behalf. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

3. What the service is

A web tool that turns a topic into a five-category trivia board and runs that board on a single screen for classroom play. No installation, no account for the teacher, no device for students — the phone buzzer is optional.

4. AI-generated questions can be wrong

Questions are produced by a language model and may contain factual errors. Every clue is editable, and you are responsible for reviewing anything a class or an assessment depends on. Do not treat generated content as a verified answer key.

5. Plans, billing and renewal

6. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from the account page or by emailing us. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep paid access until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the account continues on the free plan. There is no cancellation fee and no notice period.

7. Refunds — 14 days, no questions

Email us within 14 days of any charge and we refund it in full, including renewals and accidental duplicate charges. The full policy, including how long the money takes to arrive, is on the refund policy page. If you are in the EU or UK, this sits alongside your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal.

8. Acceptable use

We rate-limit traffic that abuses the service, and we may suspend an account that clearly exists to resell capacity. Teachers using the tool in good faith will never hit that line.

9. Your content and ours

The topics you type remain yours, and questions generated from them may be used and edited freely for teaching. The site design, code, ready-made boards and the Gameboardly name are ours: link to any page and use a board in a lesson, but do not copy the site wholesale.

10. Trademarks

“Jeopardy” is a trademark of Sony Pictures Television. Gameboardly is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Sony. The word is used descriptively to describe the trivia-board format, as other classroom tools do.

11. Availability

The service is provided “as is”, on a best-effort basis, with no uptime guarantee. Rooms are held in memory: a restart or deploy ends games in progress, and saved games are not yet a feature. Do not build a lesson plan that depends on a specific room code surviving the day.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost teaching time, or losses arising from reliance on generated questions. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

13. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong SAR, without regard to conflict-of-law rules; if you are a consumer, this does not remove protections you have under your local law. We may update these terms — the date at the top shows the current version — and material changes will be announced by email to paid accounts before they take effect.
